  108. All document management systems are not alike. DocuPower Pro

  116. they rename each file at the DOS level with their own proprietary 
  117. file names, like L000310.DOC. Finally, the new directory structure 
  118. and proprietary file names are indexed and tracked by their 
  119. database engine.

  121. And that's the problem with conventional systems - they take 
  122. too much control away from you. As long as your descriptive 
  123. names are viewed from inside their program, everything is fine. 
  124. But if you want to find a file on your own, you're out of luck.

  128. or files to a diskette, you'll be stuck. The names that the 
  129. document management program assigns are totally meaningless 
  130. to you. So using any file management program becomes impractical.
